Buck up has two meanings;
a). To meet someone; as in, bump into them unexpectedly
b). To gain something like victory or win by luck.
Patois: Mi buck up inna mi teacher inna Coronation Market.
English: I bumped into my teacher in Coronation Market.
Patois: it just a buck up weh him buck up and win. Him coulda never beat mi.
English: it's just that he only got lucky and won. He could never have beaten me.
